Douglas Charles Degrow of Plano, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the age of 86.Douglas DeGrow was born and raised in Pigeon, Michigan. He left there in 1953 to attend Western Michigan University, graduating with a Business Degree. While in college he worked at F. W. Woolworths where he met his future wife, Katherine VanDeWouwer. They were married in 1955 and soon after he was drafted into the Army. Upon return from his assignment in Italy he began his career with the General Electric Company. In the years that followed he became the father of three children, Lynda Kingsley of McKinney, Russell DeGrow of Carrollton and Amy Caster now deceased. Dougs love for his children and grandchildren, which grew to include 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, was evident to those who knew the family. We all miss him.A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, April 13th at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano at 3101 Coit Road and will include voices from the choir he was a part of for 25 years.The family wishes to thank the staff of Silverado Memory Care in Plano who cared for Mr. DeGrow during his illness.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
