Obituary

Ophelia Rachael DePasaqual 96, born December 14, 1916 in Johnson City, Texas to Thomas Arthur Bates and Edna Ophelia Holden. She passed on to our passed away Jesus Christ on August 16, 2013. She married and raised her family in Dallas, Texas where she lived in her home on Stonegate Road for over 65 years.She was a Blue Bird leader and President of the Campfire Girls Blue Bird Division, President of the North Hill Garden Club, Christ the King Catholic Church Altar Society, Big D Investment Club, and Rhea Crane Book Review Club; Vice President of the St. Paul's Auxiliary and Christ the King PTA. With a passion for gardening, the countryside and old barns, she was an avid water colorist and a member of the Southwest Watercolor Society. She was also an incredible sketch artist adept in pencil and silver point and even her doodles were worthy of framing. With a love of world travel, her scrapbooking became descriptive art. She was as witty as she was lovely and adored by all.A loving wife and mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. DePasqual, Sr., former President of Cabells Minit Markets and brothers, Thomas Lawson Bates and Kenneth Lloyd Bates.She is survived by children, Norma Jean Berndt and husband Dale of Colorado, Joe and wife Leslie of Weatherford and Linda Wells and husband Alan of Bedford; grandchildren, Dale, Jr., Dynelle Grenz and husband Jere, Monty Langston and wife Kimberly, Mark Langston and wife Jules, Rachel Langston and Amber Walsh; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 7th at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane in Dallas.We request in place of flowers just that you do something kind for a friend in need.Please send condolences and sign guestbook on this website.
