Obituary

Randall Lee Dill passed away on February 23, 2015. He was involved in a fatal car accident in Carrollton, Texas. He was 59 years young. His life began in Indianapolis, Indiana where he was the third child of Carol and Russell Dill. After three years of being the youngest of three boys, a sister came along to get all of the attention! During the formative years of his life, he lived on the West side of Indianapolis. He went to Northwest High School following both of his brothers. He graduated in 1973, and attended IUPUI College. He helped put himself through school by working the night shift at United Parcel Service. He studied architectural engineering and drafting. He had numerous drafting jobs while in Indiana. However, the cold weather drove him down to the great state of Texas. His sister being down here had a little to do with it also! Once he moved to Texas in 1990, he immediately became an adopted Texan. He loved it here. He worked for different engineering companies that specialized in plotting all of the utilities in a city, town or an entire state. He was amazed at the vastness of West Texas. His current and most enjoyable job, working at Oncor allowed him to learn and teach drafting to many other employees. He liked the idea of being challenged, he liked the idea of doing a great job for his employer and he liked learning new programs. His first love, however was his family, especially his nieces and nephews: Kim, Thomas, Dustin, Stephanie, Andy, Kyle, Kristina and Connor. They knew they were special because he made them feel that way his entire life. The only sports he enjoyed watching were the ones his nephews or nieces were involved in. He never missed a game. He was a well traveled man. He went to mainly warm locations with his sister and her family, and he traveled to Europe with his mother. He loved Hawaii. He was a ferocious reader. He read anything about history, he also researched the genealogy of his family. His mind was very curious about who his ancestors were. He was an avid gardener and spent a lot of his leisure time growing and planting flowers. He is survived by his mother, Carol Park: his two brothers, Cary Dill and wife Patty, Greg Dill and wife Kristy: and his sister, Julie Richmond and husband Curt. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas75234. In lieu of flowers, please donate of Operation Kindness, because he was a dog lover. Please send condolences to the family on this website.
