Donald Ray Sherbert, age 78, of The Colony, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2025. His loving wife of 59 years, Gay Nell Sherbert, was by his side.

Don was born on October 5, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, to Mallard and Ethel Sherbert. One of thirteen children, he was a man of deep faith and family. Don loved singing country music and was a long-standing member at his beloved Valwood Park Baptist Church, where he shared his gift with his church and family. Don was a proud grandfather who dearly loved his grandchildren, Rachel Sherbert and Cameron Sherbert, as well as his dog, Rusty.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gay Nell Sherbert of The Colony; his son, Brandon Sherbert and daughter-in-law Julianne Sherbert of Frisco; his grandchildren, Rachel Sherbert and Cameron Sherbert; and his siblings, Barbara Green, Sandra McCutcheon, and Caroline Jones.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Mallard and Ethel Sherbert, and his siblings, Charles Sherbert, James Sherbert, Jimmy Sherbert, Mallard Sherber, Jr., Dorothy Blackwell, Lavita Clements, Imagine Taylor, Geraldine Blackwell and Marie Pool.

A visitation will be held at Valwood Park Baptist Church on Saturday, August 30, at 9:30 am and the funeral service will begin at 10:am. The family is asking for only immediate family to join them at the graveside.
