Douglas McLean Obituary

Douglas McLean passed away on April 24, 2026, at the age of 81.

He was born on October 13, 1944, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Mary Leona Harvin McLean and Walter McLean. Douglas graduated from Central High School in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana State University, followed by a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Texas.

He proudly served three years in the United States Army, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant.

On August 28, 1969, Douglas married Moon Ja McLean. The couple made their home in Carrollton, Texas, where they built a life together and have been married for more than 55 years.

Douglas dedicated his professional career to Vought Aircraft, where he worked as a Risk Manager. He was respected for his meticulous attention to detail and appreciated by colleagues for his easygoing sense of humor.

Outside of work, Douglas enjoyed playing golf, traveling with Moon and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He also took great joy in caring for the family's six cats.

He is survived by his wife, Moon Ja McLean; his daughter, Kimberly; his son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Amy; and his grandchildren, Vivian, Nicholas, and Eli. He is predeceased by his parents, Mary Leona Harvin McLean, Walter McLean and sister, Carolyn Clark.

A funeral service will be held at North Dallas Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a private family burial at the DFW National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Douglas's honor to Operation Kindness, 3201 Earhart Drive, Carrollton, Texas 75006.
