Obituary

Lurline Echols, a faithful servant of God and family matriarch, passed from this life into the waiting arms of her Savior on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Pastor Carroll Smith of the church and her nephew, Mr. Glenn Boyd of Del Rio Church of Christ, will co-officiate. Interment: Laurel Land Cemetery, Fort Worth. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeside Church of God, 9396 Confederate Park Road, Lakeside. Lurline was born June 18, 1931, in Graham. She was a faithful member of Lakeside Church of God for many years. After her first husband, Richard Cook, passed away, she married Harvey Hyson Echols. She died just eight days shy of their 35th anniversary. She was also predeceased by one son, Roland Cook; one brother, George Spurgin; one daughter, Joyce Van Scoy; and one granddaughter, Shawna Echols. Survivors: Husband, Harvey Echols; sons, Jimmy Cook and wife, Carol, Roy Echols and wife, Nancy, and Guy Echols and wife, Sue; daughter, Linda Echols; four brothers; one sister; two sisters-in-law; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; extended family; and friends too numerous to mention.
