Obituary

Clyde Emberton of Carrollton, Texas, was called to Heaven on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, after a lengthy illness and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 9, 1927, in Olton, Texas, to Evert and Mattie Emberton. He proudly served in the United States Navy in WWII in the Pacific. After returning from the Navy, he completed high school, married his high school sweetheart and farmed for several years in the Olton area. After early bouts with skin cancer, Clyde pursed a business career and established Emberton Supply in 1953. He operated this business for the next 45 years before retiring and moving to Carrollton to be closer to family. Clyde was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Halfway, Plainview and Carrollton. He was able to live a life-long dream of becoming a Gideon and was an active member of the North Dallas Gideon Camp where he faithfully served as Scripture Chairman. Distributing Bibles was his mission in life. He made friends easily and had a warm and compassionate heart. His faith was an important guiding light to him. Clyde loved his family above all things on this earth, and he served as the spiritual leader of the family. He was always ready to assist those in need, and with a screwdriver and pliers he would attempt to fix anything. He prayed for the safety and welfare of his family and his country that he dearly loved. Clyde
