Jason Robert Ennis, known to his friends and family as Rob, was born in Houston on July 4, 1944 and grew up there, graduating from Milby High School. From Houston he went to the University of Texas at Austin where he met and fell in love with Carolyn Stewart. After graduation they were married in Corpus Christi in 1967 before the Air Force sent then Captain Ennis and his new bride to England for three years as a transportation officer. After a year in Vietnam Rob was honorably discharged from service and returned to Texas. In Dallas Rob and Carolyn built a family adding sons Jason and Matthew, and developed a strong group of life-long friends. Rob had a successful decades-long career in transportation management until deciding to work for a few years before retirement in the belly of the beast as a customer service representative for the IRS. In retirement Rob enjoyed both travelling the world and being at home with family, friends, and his dog Max.In addition to his deep love for his family, Rob loved being outdoors and enjoying nature whether on family camping vacations, or while hunting or sailing. But more than that he loved to laugh and could always be counted on for a joke or a long and winding funny story.He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; his son Jason and his wife Ann; and his son Matthew and his wife Amy and their son Anderson and daughter Maryn; and sister-in-law Chris Stewart.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you have a sip of frozen margarita or better yet a scotch, enjoy a good laugh, and hug your family. Thats the way Rob lived his life.
