Obituary

LLOYD ERNEST FAULKNER began his journey into this world on June 12, 1935 in his grandmothers front room in Malvern, Arkansas. He was raised in Dallas, Texas by his mother, Marie Duncan and stepdad, Norval Duncan. Lloyd lived his life his way. He was always a positive, cheerful person and enjoyed every day. He graduatedfrom Sunset High School where he was a fun-loving cheerleader. After graduating in 1954 he submitted his name for the draft and spent 2 years in the Army in Germany Every day was an adventure for him he even liked the Army food.In business, Lloyd was Comptroller of the Zales Jewelry Division before branching out in the 1970s as a self employed salesperson in fashion jewelry. He often said hed been to every little town in Texas. Then moving in fine jewelry, he opened First Gold Corp., manufacturing and selling fine jewelry and diamonds. When he traveled on the road he not only made customers, but they became friends as well some of which he still had.Lloyd was literally a man of many hats. He started a construction company building a large self-storage facility and several duplexes. He bought rental houses and remodeled them. And if that wasnt enough, he opened a ladies fashion clothing manufacturing company. He loved it all.But most of all, he loved his family. Pre-deceased by him Mother, Marie Duncan; stepdad, Norval Duncan; brother, Larry Duncan; and uncle R.G. Ham. Survived by the love of his life, wife and best friend, Shirley; daughters LeeAnn English (Steve); and Melinda Griffin (Stephen); stepdaughters, Mindy Kahn and Lori Cummings; adopted daughter and caregiver Teri Hitchcock; grandchildren (Ponca to them) Lauren Helfrich, Meigan English and Ian Cummings; son-in-law Guy Cummings; brother, Roland Duncan; sister, DeLaine Hurley and many nieces and nephewsand some wonderful friends.RIP, sweet Lloyd.Lloyd's family will receive visitors Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.The Funeral Service will begin, following the visitation, at 12:00 pm (Noon) at the funeral home.Following the service there will be a procession to Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6000 South R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, Texas 75232 where Lloyd will be laid to rest.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this site.
