Gordon L. Flinn, 86, of Dallas passed away April 2, 2012 with his family at his side.He was born June 3, 1925 to Glenn and Clara Flinn in Faribault, MN, the 2nd of 3 children. He entered the U.S. Army upon graduation from high school, and served for 3 years in Japan during World War II, earning a purple heart. After leaving the service he earned a degree from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. He took a job with GMAC for whom he worked 32 years, last holding the position of Head Auditor in NYC. While with GMAC he met and married his wife, Gwen, in Sydney, Australia in 1955, moving back to the U.S. later that year. He and Gwen retired to Texas, where he enjoyed the last 20 years of his life. He loved to golf, and was a sports enthusiast until the end.Gordon is survived by his son, Glenn Flinn and wife, Karla of Dallas; son, Graham Flinn of Dallas; daughter, Gail Flinn of Phoenix; grandchildren, LeeAnn, Grady and Casey Flinn of Dallas, and Brodie, Nicole and Jack Tate of Phoenix; sister, Shirley McCarthy of Cross Lake, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Gwen, his parents, Glenn and Clara Flinn, and his sister, Marian Roberts of Faribault, MN.
