It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Irwin Gelsky, of Richardson, Texas, who passed away on April 7, 2020, at the age of 76.George was born to Harry and Sophie Gelsky onSeptember 24, 1943in Brooklyn, New York. He raised his sons in New Jersey, but eventually relocated to the Dallas, Texas area where he met his wife and love, Linda. George enjoyed traveling to the beach with Linda, watching boxing and football, movies of all types, the number 18, his dogs, cats and African Grey Parrot, classic cars and a large coke with no ice. George was an advocate for the Austin Street Shelter and owner of many businesses.George is survived by his wife, Linda Gelsky of Richardson, Texas, ex-wife Arlene Rodriguez and husband Andrew of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, son Hal Gelsky and Rosi, son Brad Gelsky and wife Betty of Miami, Florida, son Troy Gelsky and wife Emilie of Allen, Texas, step daughters Shelly Henry, Daynia Keel and Vivian Dowell, grandsons Jacob, Lee, Zachary, Isaac and granddaughters Jordanna and Sarah Grace.Family and friends are welcome to make adonation to Austin Street Shelter in lieu of flowersor leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 12, 2020, at the Tiferet Israel Agudas Achim Cemetery, 7801 Scyene Road, Dallas, TX 75227.Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
