Dennis Lee Gieseke passed away on December 27, 2012 after a long battle with Inclusion Body Myositis. He was born January 18, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. Dennis is survived by his wife, Jody, his brothers Michael and Charles, and six nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Dennis. Dennis was an exceptional track star and football player. He played wide receiver for SIU in Carbondale, Illinois in his early years. Dennis lived in Carbondale for many years, honing his art for playing pool, and becoming a world class pool player. He met his wife, Jody Nolen Gieseke in Carbondale. They were married in 1983 and moved to Dallas, Texas, where Dennis worked for the Ben E Keith Company and American Airlines. He retired from AA in 2011. Dennis is remembered as a loving man who adored his family.
