Gregory David Haake, 75, of Argyle, TX, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Born on July 25, 1949, in Mount Vernon, WA, he was the son of Wallace and Anita (Novotny) Haake.

Greg graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas, TX, in 1967. He enlisted in the Army in 1969 and proudly served 21 months in Vietnam. His military service was marked by numerous honors, including the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and Air Medal.

After returning home, Greg earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University in 1975. On May 22, 1982, he married the love of his life, Darlene. They shared 42 wonderful years together. Greg dedicated his career to accounting and taxes, retiring at 68 but continuing to work part-time in various roles. His dedication extended beyond his profession; he was deeply committed to his family and honoring veterans through his church and motorcycle groups. Up until 2020, Greg enjoyed riding his Harley and participating in events with the Combat Vets Association.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Anita Haake, and his brothers, Stanley Haake and Ron Haake. His legacy endures in his loving wife, Darlene; his children, Jeff McClure and his wife Cindy, Kristen Mills and her husband Josh; and his cherished granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Abigail, and Clara Mills. He is also survived by his siblings, Linda Williams, Jim Haake, and Mike Haake; and many nieces and nephews. Greg also leaves behind his loyal dogs Sugar and Ducky.

A celebration of Greg's life will be held at Christian Center Family Church on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, with visitation starting at 10 am and service starting at 12pm. Burial will take place at a later date at DFW National Cemetery.
