Obituary

Obituary of Gregory Allan Wood Gregory Allan Wood went home to be with his passed away and Savior on February 19, 2024, at the age of 65, surrounded by his family following a brief illness. Born and raised in Farmers Branch, TX, Greg was the eldest son of Barney and Barbara Wood. He accepted Jesus Christ as his passed away and Savior early in life, attending Royal Haven Baptist Church before graduating from R. L. Turner High School in 1976. Greg met the love of his life, Sheri, at First Baptist Church Carrollton, and the two were married in 1982. Greg proudly worked with FBCC High School Student Ministry, Bible Drill, and 2/3 year-old preschool ministry and went on numerous mission trips with the Living Proof Choir. Greg also volunteered in the kitchen at church to prepare Wednesday Night meals and prayed every Thursday for 25 years with fellow prayer warriors Darryl and Harrel. People like to describe Greg by saying he never met a stranger, but he did. He met strangers at work, at appointments, at church, and at his grandchildrens sporting eventsthey just never stayed strangers for long. Greg welcomed everyone he met with the love of Christ, and though his sense of humor could draw a crowd, Greg was never one for the spotlight. He much preferred to highlight the accomplishments of others. Greg worked at KGM in Tulsa for the last 12 years and truly loved his KGM coworkers like family. He was an amazing communicator and used those skills to grow the business he so loved. Greg always said God saved his favorite job for last, and you could take that two ways. He loved KGM, and he also loved being a Pops to his grand-kids. But, again, thats just yet another example of how Greg made everyone around him feel special. Greg was an official caregiver for both his parents and his wife in later years, but no agency or title made Greg care about everyone around himGod did, and what a blessing that has been for all of us who knew him. Greg is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sheri; his amazing children, Aaron Wood and wife, Mindi; Julie Wood Fikac and husband, Jeremy; Morgan Wood May and husband, Marshall. Greg was so pleased to tell everyone he met about his seven amazing grandchildren: Rhyli, Maddox, and Deacon Wood; Emerson, Anderson, and Hudson Fikac; and sweet Amelia May. Greg also leaves behind siblings Keith Wood, Cindy Miller, and Paul Wood, as well as several treasured nieces, nephews, and friends.
