Van Wallace Guidry, born February 8, 1950, in Jefferson County, Texas died on October 2, 2012. He is survived by wife of 37 years, Lurline Lorraine Deville Guidry, his daughters Helen Michelle Guidry Rankin and her husband Mark, and granddaughter Hayley Pearl, Sarah Kay Guidry Stubbs and her husband Jason and granddaughter Savannah Olivia. Van was preceded by father Melvin Joseph Guidry and mother Evelyn Pearl Gross Guidry, brother Paul Guidry and sister Catherine Guidry Richards Palmer.Van grew up in the Port Neches area where he attended Port Neches Groves High School and Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Van was a long time resident of Carrollton, Texas. He worked in the Dallas/Ft Worth area in the computer field since 1977 when he was transferred from Huntington Memorial Hospital IT department in Pasadena California to Baylor Hospital in downtown Dallas in 1976. Van worked in recent years for Decision One as an onsite contractor at Bell Helicopter.Van enjoyed his hobbies of photography, politics, and spending time with his family and friends. His dream was to travel the United States in our RV and visit all the State Parks. There will be a visitation at the North Dallas Funeral Home in the Brooks Family Chapel on Saturday, October 6, 2012, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. The funeral home is located at 2710 Valley View Lane, Dallas, Texas 75234. The address shows Dallas, but this funeral home is really in the Farmers Branch area located about a mile east off of I-35. Van will be missed by both family and friends. He was the one his "girls" called when they needed help. He was always ready to listen and give advice and support, take or pickup something we forgot, or be there when we needed help for any reason. Van did not like to have his picture taken, but he never missed taking pictures of everything special in our lives.Please send the family condolences and sign the guest book on this site.
