Thomas Herbert Haney, known to friends and family as Herb, 72, of Pasadena Texas, passed away on March 31, 2012. Herb was born in Tucumcari, NM to parents, Vic and Stroud Haney. As a young boy, his family relocated to Dalhart Texas. They were members of the Pine Street Methodist Church. Herb had many wonderful friends in the community and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1958. Serving his country, Herb became a Surveyor in the Army. This service took him to Germany, France and Spain. Upon returning from the service, he graduated from Panhandle State University in Oklahoma. Herb had a long and successful career. He began as a Design Engineer for Beach Aircraft in Liberal Kansas. After relocating to Pasadena Texas, he worked for Pritchard and Abbott for many years. The last part of his career was spent as a Tax Consultant for Coastal Oil. A lifetime love of motorcycles and antique cars kept Herb busy. He enjoyed rebuilding and showing all types of cars and leaves many friends behind in the Rod-Tiques Antique Car Club of Pasadena. Herb was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.Proceeded in death by his precious daughter, Kelly Diane Haney; parents, Vic and Stroud Haney of Dalhart, Texas; brothers in law, John Scott Martin of Pasadena, Texas, and John Oliver Crosswhite of Las Vegas, Nevada.Herb is survived by his son, Thomas Herbert Haney Jr., wife, Julie and grandchildren, Rowan and Sophie, of Austin Texas; sisters, Dorothy Martin Oliver and husband, John of Pasadena, Texas and Marion Crosswhite of Plano, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
