Janet Rose Davis Hanna went to be with the passed away on November 15, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on July 22, 1947 to Clifford Davis and Ethel Gordon Davis in Garden City Kansas. She spent a majority of her childhood growing up in Sublette, Kansas. After high school, she attended Ozark Bible College. After Bible College, she worked for Pioneer Bible Translators for several years.In late 1976, Janet was introduced to Ronnie Hanna and they married on April 8, 1977. Ronnie had been a widower for four years, raising three children a daughter Cindy and twin boys, Mark and David. Janet had never married or had children of her own. She welcomed the kids into her life as her own kids. She was such a loving and supportive wife to Ronnie and mother to her kids.During the first several years after they married, Janet worked at Heritage Christian Academy which was part of Dallas Christian College where Ronnie served as Vice President. In 1982, Ronnie and Janet answered the call to serve at Montrose Christian Church in Montrose, Colorado where they would spend the next 25 years. Janet was not only a wonderful preachers wife, but she also led bible studies and spoke at Christian womens conferences. Upon their return to the Dallas area in 2007, she and Ronnie attended Cornerstone Christian Church in Dallas, TX where Ronnie served as an elder and where Janet continued to be a member until her death. After Ronnies death in 2012, Janet worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Admissions office of Dallas Christian College until she retired in May of 2018.Janet is preceded in death by her husband Ronnie Hanna, father Clifford Davis, mother Ethel Davis and sister Jerriene Cochran. She is survived by her three children, Cindy MacFarlane of Carrollton, TX, son David Hanna and his wife Cathy of Keller, TX and son Mark Hanna and his wife Kimberly of Riverside, CA. She also had seven grandchildren, Melanie MacFarlane, Mallory MacFarlane, Stephanie Peterson, Tim Peterson, Ciara Hanna, Krystal Hanna and Dalton Hanna. one great grandson who she adored, Sebastian (son of Stephanie), sister-in-law Rosemary Denson, nieces Carmen Cochran and Sandra Fisher, nephew David Cochran and great nephew Timothy Fisher. Janet is also survived by her faithful canine companion, Bella, who loved and protected her until the end.There will be a viewing and family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Dallas, TX 75234 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 19 in the chapel of North Dallas Funeral Home with a burial service to follow at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Rd. in Dallas, TX 75243.
