Harriett Martha Doepel passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family, to be withour passed away and savior on July 21, 2022 at 95 years old.Harriett is survived by her siblings, Ethelyn (Pete) and Sylvia; her children, Daniel and Darlene;and her grandchildren, Taylor and Kayley. She is predeceased by her parents, Gustov Adolfand Agnus Marie Kuske; her siblings, Wilmer, Eugene, Dorothy, Donald, and Luella (Ellie); andher daughter Denise Ann Doepel.Harriett was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1926, in Owatonna, Minnesota. Harriettgrew up in a strong Lutheran Christian home. Her father was a strict father and a farmer, whileher mother kept a lush garden. Harriett was the oldest of 8, and assumed responsibility as such.She often mentioned how she needed to be an example for her siblings. Living throughhardships like the Great Depression was not easy, but the farm and garden kept good andplentiful food on their table. Although money was tight, it was a priority to her parents to puteach and every one of their 8 children through college. Harriett found joy in the fact that shecame from a family of preachers and teachers, and she was no different. After college shetaught school in Fort Smith, Arkansas. It was there that she met her husband, and theyeventually moved to Dallas. In Dallas she brought three children into the world and taught pianoto over forty students at a time which kept her more than busy. She found herself divorced,which was difficult and nearly unheard of in the 70s. It was a blessing that she was able to ownand operate rental property while managing a dress store which provided a living for her and herchildren as a single mother.Harriett was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. As aforementioned, she wasan avid Christian, involved in many church activities, of which she was also happy to be animportant part of the Single Adult Sunday School of Dallas where she was actively involved forover forty years. She also joyously witnessed and sang The Lords praises every chance shecould. She was a passionate teacher and pianist. She spent every holiday with her family, andshe will be greatly missed.
