Ann Dillard Harrison of Carrollton, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the age of 91. Shewas born on September 23, 1924 in Orlando, Florida. Her parents were Elizabeth Ledbetter Dillard and Hunter J. Dillard. Ann grew up in Tampa, Florida and graduated from Plant High School. She attended Stevens College and Florida State College for Women. Ann married William C. Harrison Jr., then a Lieutenant in the Air Force in 1945. They had two sons, William C. Harrison III, born in 1948 in Panama City, Florida and Hunter Scott Harrison born in 1951 in Fort Worth, Texas.After WWII, her husband decided to pursue a career as an officer in the Air Force. This resulted in a life of constant movement for the family as her husband pursued his military career. Often times her husband was away on extended duty for the Air Force, leaving Ann to run the household, raise two sons and organize yet another move to a new city.After her husband's retirement from the Air Force, they settled in Fort Worth, Texas. Ann had a wide circle of friends, was an active member of Ridglea Country Club, and a volunteer at Cook Children's Hospital. Her husband died in 2003. Ann was known for her social grace and skills, and her love of bridge and golfing.Ann is survived her sons, Bill Harrison, his wife, Elaine, their two children, Benjamin and Annie, and Scott Harrison and his step daughters, Julienne, Lacy and Abigail, their spouses and children.In lieu of flowers, donations to Cooks Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice are appreciated.Please leave the family condolence and share memories on this website.
