Obituary

Helen was born Helen Marie Curl on January 24, 1937, in Watts, Oklahoma to William Isaac Curl and Juanita Alice Welch Curl. She was the second child in a family of ten siblings. Throughout her life, Helen cherished her close-knit family bonds. Her siblings who have preceded her in passing are Ralph Curl, Phyllis Luca, Pauline Goodwin, Charles Curl, and Sharon Blythe, and they now await her in heaven. Helen is survived by her loving siblings Linda Stanley, Betty Miller, Don Curl, and Jack Curl, each of whom continues to honor her memory.

On August 31, 1958, Helen married Sylvester Schupman, who was the love of her life. Their marriage was a testament to their enduring devotion. After Sylvester's passing, Helen found companionship once more and married her longtime friend, Bernard Guiette, on April 19, 2001. Both of Helen's beloved husbands preceded her in death, leaving behind cherished memories of deep love and lasting friendship.

Helen was blessed with four daughters. Two of her beloved children, Sondra Kaye McCoy and Mary Alice Schupman, have gone before her and now await her in heaven. Helen is survived by her daughters Phyllis, who is married to Ron Daigneault, and Tanza, who is married to Tom Crowther. Their lives and families continue to honor Helen's memory and legacy.

Helen was deeply proud of her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy throughout her life. Her beloved grandchildren are William "Bill" McCoy, Gary McCoy, Josh McCoy, Fred Guiette II and his wife Kali, Benjamin "Ben" Guiette and his wife Megan, Joe Daigneault, Sarah Walker and her spouse Jeremiah "J.C.", Jamie Daigneault, and Clayton "Scott" Crowther and his wife Ashley. Helen's legacy continues through her family, which also includes twelve cherished great-grandchildren.

Helen attended North Dallas Cosmetology School, where she pursued her passion for hairstyling and established herself as a skilled hairdresser. In addition to her career in cosmetology, Helen was a talented cake designer, known for creating beautifully decorated cakes for family and friends. Her expertise extended to sewing, as she was recognized as an excellent seamstress, making wedding dresses for many of her loved ones and crafting garments and projects with care and precision. Helen's creative abilities and dedication to her crafts brought joy to those around her and formed an integral part of her legacy.

Helen was involved with Greenville Reecy Davis Senior Center – having fun and enjoying life up to her final days.

Helen passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2026, with her daughters by her side.

Pallbearers: William "Bill" McCoy, Gary McCoy, Josh McCoy, Fred Guiette II, Benjamin "Ben" Guiette, Jeremiah "J.C." Walker, Clayton "Scott" Crowther.

Helen's services will be held at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Ln., Farmers Branch, Tx. 72534. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, April 23, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral will be Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
