Pearl Croft Hodges passed away on Wednesday, February, 1, 2012 at her home in Dallas, Texas at the age of 94 years.Pearl was born on April 12, 1917, in Coleman, TX to James "Shorty" and Atha Croft. She moved to Dallas at the age of 18 and worked for Woolworth's drug store for a short time before moving on to Safeway grocers where she met her husband to be, Roy Hodges, founder and co-owner of Hodges GroceryFood Stores. Pearl devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, homemaker and faithful servant of the Lord. Pearl spent her last years at the Manchester Place, where she received outstanding care and love, and will be fondly remembered for her warm spirit and sense of humor. She is preceeded in death by her parents, husband Roy, and grandson Zachary Jones. She is survived by son Bob and wife Linda Hodges of Dallas, grandson Rob and 2 great granddaughters Ashley and Heather. Daughter Judy and husband Pat Murphey of Austin, their daughters Molly Murphey, Jennifer and husband Jake Sloan and great grandson Braden. Daughter Lynda Jones and husband Martin Tyson of Horseshoe Bay, grandsons Jeff and Eric Brackenridge and great grandchildren Christian and Taylor Brackenridge. Pearl touched the lives of all who met her, and we will all miss our mother, nana, nanny, and friend.On Saturday, February 4, 2012 we will celebrate her life at North Dallas Funeral Home in the Brooks Family Chapel with visitation from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, and the Celebration of Life service beginning at 12:00 pm.
