Obituary

Stuart Andrew Hunt, 64, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 17, in his North Dallas home from liver cancer.The oldest of four children, Stuart was born Dec. 6, 1948, in Montreal, Quebec, to Shirley and Stuart Hunt. He moved to the United States as a child and grew up in Buffalo, NY; Clinton, IA, and Wilmington, DE. He served his country with the 173rd Airborne Brigade during the Vietnam War. After the war Stuart worked in insurance as a financial advisor in New Orleans and Baton Rouge before settling in Dallas. He loved to play tennis and was active at Brookhaven Country Club where he served on the Boardof Governors. He was an avid scholar of military history, particularly World War II, and loved to read history, espionage and political thrillers.One of his life highlights was accompanying the veterans of the 82nd and 101st Airborne to the 55th anniversary of D-Day and touring the battlegrounds of France, Belgium and Holland along with his father, also a WWII paratrooper, and his sister Virginia.He is survived by his wife Lori Stanley Hunt; step-daughter Sarah Stanley of Dallas; mother Shirley M. Hunt of Gladwyne, PA; two sisters, Virginia Hunt of Scranton, PA; and Heather Ruhlman of Roper, NC, and his German Shepherd, Blitz.
