Obituary

Lance Corporal (LCpl) Jack Gordon Fannin, of Yuma, Arizona went to heaven to be with his Savior the passed away Jesus Christ on 26 May 2022.LCpl Fannin was born on 21 December 2000 to proud parents Michael R. Fannin and Allison Rucker Fannin of Lewisville, Texas.He graduated from Hebron High School and entered the United States Marine Corps Recruit Training DepotSan Diego, California; successfully completing basic training on 13 December 2019. This was followed by additional military occupational specialty instruction as an Engineer Equipment Mechanic training at Naval Air Station, Pensacola FL, home to the Blue Angels, that LCpl Fannin enjoyed and excelled at.LCpl Fannins last duty assignment began in December 2020 at Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Arizona where he was a service member of MACS-1 Headquarters Company, MT/UT Platoon. After several months he gained additional proficiencies in the military arts, qualifying for new duties as a Combat Marksmanship Coach and subsequently was transferred to the Marksmanship Training Unit. Here LCpl Fannin tirelessly coached fellow Marines in the use of their service rifles for weapons qualifications as well as assisting in the training of new coaches. LCpl Fannin daily lived the Marine Creed, This is My Rifle and was devoted to his duty, his unit and his country.LCpl Fannin is survived by his parents, younger brother Reese, maternal grandparents Dean and Letty Rucker, and paternal grandmother Mary Fannin, and numerous relatives to include aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom adored him and were immensely proud of his accomplishments in service to our country as a United States Marine. LCplFannin was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Eleanor Ellie Rucker and paternal grandparents John Jack Fannin and Gertrude Gordon Fannin.

A Memorial Service officiated by Jacks maternal uncle, the Rev. Scott Davis, will be held at

The Ridge Church,

Carrollton, TX

Thursday 16 June at 6 PM.

A Burial Service will commence with a funeral procession from the

North Dallas Funeral Home,

2710 Valley View Lane,

Dallas, TX

leaving on Friday 17 June at 11 AM for arrival at the

DFW National Cemetery,

2000 Mountain Creek Parkway,

Dallas, TX

for a burial ceremony with Military Honors.

Jack loved his family and we all look forward to our reunion in heaven where we will be together again, eternally joyful and happy as fellow believers in the passed away Jesus Christ. The colors will never be retired. Taps will be heard no more.John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
