Obituary

Born July 30, 1942, in Oak Cliff, Texas, to parents William Wayne and Nellie Faye (Wilson) Whaley of Dallas. She was the second daughter of their three children.

Jackie was known as the tomboy of the family and enjoyed spending time outdoors, family camping trips to Possum Kingdom Lake and played the clarinet in the marching band.

Jackie had a unique talent for being able to write her name backwards and forward in one stroke of the pen.

She was extremely proud of her Texas roots and could answer any question about previous generations of her family and the area where she grew up.

She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1960.

After graduation she attended the University of Texas Dallas for a short time before meeting her first love and having her first of four children.

Jackie enjoyed many types of crafts including jewelry making, painting, and sewing.

She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for friends and family.

Most importantly, Jackie lived her life for her kids and grandkids. She would not miss a football, baseball, rodeo, or band event for anything in the world. But her greatest accomplishment was watching her kids grow and succeed in life and love and starting their own families.

She loved her family, friends, the Lewisville Fighting Farmers, and her Beloved Dallas Cowboys!

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dixie Charlene Whaley McCoy, and brother, James "Butch" Houston Whaley. Jackie is survived by her daughter Ginger Nell Rust, wife Michelle (Clark) Rust of Argyle, son Robert Douglas Phillips of Hickory Creek, Roy Wayne Phillips and wife Corrie (Morrison) Phillips of Granbury and son Buddy Sean Phillips of Denton; Grandchildren Roy Wayne II, Cody James, JanisLynn, Brooklyn Lee and Caleb William; and Great Grandchildren Knox Terry, Norah Elise and Hallie Jean along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
