James Edward Aiken Obituary

January 5, 1931 - September 7, 2024

Jim lived a full and rich life, surrounded by loved ones. He cherished his role as a husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. His spirit, no longer with us, has gone to be with Jesus in heaven, and in that we find great joy.

Raised in Crossett, Arkansas, Jim later moved to Dallas, Texas where he met his wife Ella Faye at First Baptist Church. They had three children: Jeff, Cathy, and Andy. Although he spent much of his later life in Texas, he was an Arkansas man through and through and never missed a chance to cheer on the Razorbacks.

Jim worked for Genuine Parts, until he retired in 1987. He took pride in the relationships he built, whether with colleagues, neighbors, or lifelong friends. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, golf, and spending time with family and friends. He was involved in his church, Park Cities Baptist, and enjoyed serving in various ministries.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ella Faye Aiken, and his son, Andy Aiken. He is survived by his son, Jeff Aiken, his daughter, Cathy Jarvis, his granddaughters, Abby and Emily Jarvis, his sister, Linda Aiken Moore, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Friday, September 13th at Park Cities Baptist Church in Ellis Chapel at 11am. If you wish to attend and are unable to make it in person, it will be livestreamed at pcbcspecialevents.online.church.
