Obituary

We honor the life of James Troy Henderson, who passed away on October 31, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, after fighting complications from Marfan syndrome with remarkable strength.

Born on September 24, 1963, in Neptune, New Jersey, Troy grew up surrounded by a loving family and values instilled by his parents, Lucius and Ruby Henderson. He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Gregory(Patricia).

He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years Miki and daughter Reina, who were his greatest joys and the heart of his life. He is also remembered with love by his sisters Ira, Ava, and Myra (John); his brothers Lucius Jr. ("Papa"), Victor, and Shawn (Annalisa); his niece and nephews; and a wide circle of extended family and friends.

From 1981 to 1989, Troy served in the United States Marine Corps, carrying with him discipline, integrity, and an unwavering sense of responsibility. He had a naturally inquisitive mind—always analyzing, and problem-solving. Troy often used his talents and understanding to assist family, friends, and neighbors. He was a compassionate man who was moved to care for those who needed assistance whether his fellow man or stray animals.

This dedication is offered with deep love and gratitude for a man who meant so much to so many—and whose absence will be felt, remembered, and honored always.
