James Marshall Ruth, age 86, passed peacefully at home in Mansfield, TX on August 27, 2025. James was born to JB and Alma Ruth on August 5, 1939 in Comanche, TX, served in the Army, loved being on a boat on Proctor Lake fishing for crappie, and in his younger days, teaching the kids to water ski. He was a gardener, animal lover, gifted storyteller, and a Texas sports fan, who enjoyed old westerns and reality shows. James was a kind and loving brother to Ronnie Ruth and Jo Ballweg; husband to Melissa; father to Minh Nguyen, Yen Huynh, Sang Huynh, Crystal Daniel, and Robert Ruth; grandfather to Tommy, Chelsea, De'Lena, Kaleb, Joshua, Seth, Mason, Addyson, Kennedy, Annabella, Selah, Presley, Loralei, and Skylar and father-in-law to Derek, Donna, and Shannon. James had many cousins, friends, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was a selfless man with a big heart, a giving and generous man of God. He was deeply loved and adored and will be missed.
