Janice Lenore
Wise
August 31, 1951 – May 14, 2025
Janice Lenore Wise, 73, passed away on May 14, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on August 31, 1951, in Miller County, Arkansas and raised in Odessa, Texas, Janice lived a life defined by compassion, joy, and unwavering dedication to others.
A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Janice was known for her deep sense of kindness and selflessness that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her playful spirit and infectious sense of humor brought light into the lives of those around her. To her children and grandchildren—who affectionately called her "Mobsey"—she was a source of unconditional love and laughter.
Janice found joy in life's simple pleasures: singing with heartfelt enthusiasm, getting lost in the pages of a good book, enjoying movies both old favorites and new discoveries, and most especially spending time playing with her grandchildren. These moments were not just pastimes but expressions of the warmth and joy she carried within her.
Her commitment to serving others extended far beyond her family. A devoted member of Southside Church of Christ in Fort Worth, Janice lived out her faith through action. She gave generously of her time to numerous organizations dedicated to uplifting the marginalized and oppressed. Her volunteer work reflected the values she held dear—compassion without condition and service without expectation.
Janice is lovingly remembered by her children Emily and Robert Williams of Fort Worth and Jason Wise of San Antonio; her cherished grandchildren Katherine, Caroline, and Isaac Williams of Fort Worth; her sister Norma Waller of Indianapolis, Indiana; her brother Tony Cox of Odessa, Texas; and sister-in-law Jan Cox of Dublin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents Birdie Lee Powell Cox and Hershel Marvin Cox as well as her brother Lloyd Wilson Cox.
A celebration of Janice's life will be held at Southside Church of Christ located at 2101 Hemphill Street in Fort Worth on June 10th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. All who knew Janice are invited to gather in remembrance of a woman whose life was a testament to love in action.
May the memory of Janice Lenore Wise bring comfort to all who were blessed to know her.
