Obituary

Dana Glenn Jarnagin, age 57, passed away on March 16, 2017, at home in Carrollton, Texas after a short illness.Dana was born June 20, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, and was adopted by Danny and Luann Jarnagin. Dana graduated from Lancaster High School in 1977. Dana began riding in Play Days as a kid and excelled to PRCA Rodeo, focusing on calf roping and later team roping. In 2001, Dana lost his beloved horse Stevie to colic and retired from rodeo.A Carrollton resident since 1989, Dana held several positions in route sales. His community activities included volunteer work for Rosemeade Elementary as well as Blalack Middle School and Creekview High School bands and choir. Dana was at every event along with Renee and could be depended on to make the events successful as well as more fun.On June 24, 1989, Dana married his best friend and life partner, Renee Merolla. Renee and Dana were blessed to laugh more in their 33 years together than some people do in a lifetime. Renee and Dana enjoyed country and western dancing when they were younger. They enjoyed going to the beach, antiquing, estate sales, and basically anything where they could spend time together. They never went on vacation without Sean in tow and Sean was the source of great pride to Dana.In addition to Renee, Dana is survived by sons, Sean Jarnagin of Carrollton and Chad Jarnagin of Houston. Dana is also survived by a brother, David Jarnagin and wife Holly of Leander; mother-in-law Audrey Merolla of Farmers Branch, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Dana was preceded in death by his parents, Danny and Luann Jarnagin; grandparents Elmer and Alice Jarnagin and Joseph and Vernice Tyree.Tocelebrate Dana's Life a Memorial Service is set for 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
