On the afternoon of June 29, 2022, Jerri Gussis of Frisco, Texas died at the age of 72.Jerri was born in 1950 to Melvin and Roberta Rittenhouse in Woodward, Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1971 from Northwestern State College in Oklahoma and her Master of Science in Political Science in 1973 from Oklahoma State University. Jerri found great fulfillment in her 28-year career as a political science professor at Richland College in Dallas. In March 1982, Jerri married Gene Gussis, and together they raised two sons, Dane and Dillon, who have given her the joy of being a grandmother to their combined 7 children. She is survived by her sister, Lynn Hamm.Jerri was passionate about politics, current events, teaching, reading, and tennis; and experienced abundant happiness over the years in her pursuit of these interests. She loved family above all and was deeply loyal to the family and friends she loved. Jerri spent the last 15 years of her life with Paul Gibson who loved and cared for her selflessly. Late in life, Jerri found Jesus and found hope in Him amidst her Parkinson diagnosis and hardships she endured in that. We praise God for taking her home to be with Him where she is fully healed. Jerri is preceded in death by her husband, Gene. She is survived by her 2 sons, Dane and Dillon, and her grandchildren, Isabella, Gage, Parker, Tate, Easton, Macie Jo and Lincoln.
