Jerry Lea
Chambers
April 14, 1949 – March 31, 2026
Jerry Lea Chambers, born April 14, 1949, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, to Glynn and Vernice Klingman, passed away peacefully surrounded by love.
She graduated from Rush Springs High School in 1968 and went on to attend cosmetology school, beginning a career that reflected her creativity and passion for helping others feel their best. Later, she moved to Oklahoma City, where she built her life and met Larry Chambers. They married and together had one daughter, Desira, who was the center of her world.
She lived a vibrant and joyful life filled with the things she loved most—painting, riding waverunners, traveling, dancing, watching movies, and spending time with her many friends. Above all, she cherished her family. She later moved to Texas to be closer to her daughter and found her greatest joy in being "MeMe" to her beloved grandson, Kaden Hernandez. Their bond was incredibly special, and she was so proud of the man he has become.
She is survived by her daughter, Desira Prewitt, and son-in-law, David; her grandson, Kaden Hernandez, and his fiancée, Neeka; her brother, Lon Klingman; and sister-in-law, Ruth. She also leaves behind many dear friends whose lives she touched deeply. She lived a full and beautiful life and is now walking with Jesus.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
