Jerry Edward Martin was born on August 3, 1941 in Corpus Christi, Texas to J.E. Martin and Audrey Maye Vandiver. He passed away in Dallas, Texas on December 30, 2024 at the age of 83.

After serving in the U.S. Army in Germany, Jerry began his career in the construction business working as a civilian in Vietnam for Brown and Root Construction Company. He also spent time with General Portland Cement Company before starting his own company, Martex Floors. Jerry retired from C&C Engineering in 2018.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ellen McGauley Martin, daughter Amy Martin Hejnicki and her husband Mark, son Joseph Martin and his wife Amber, grandson Kyle Hejnicki and his wife Lauren, granddaughters Kathryn Hejnicki, Courtney Hejnicki, Emily Martin, Sabrina Martin, great-granddaughter Lucille Hejnicki, brother Danny Martin, and sister Diane Galchutt.

Jerry was a member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas where a memorial service will be held in the chapel on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow in the atrium.
