Jerry Welles Poston, Sr; age 82, of Palestine, Texas, passed away peacefully with his daughtersat his side, on Friday, February 18, 2022, in Tyler, Texas after a long illness.Jerry was born January 21, 1940, in McKinney, Texas to Jim and Margie Poston. He grew up in McKinney,Texas with his two younger sisters, Kayren, and Jamie. After graduating high school in 1958, heattended North Texas State in Denton, Texas for a time and then moved to Dallas later to workwith Woods Industries. While in Dallas, he met the love of his life, Linda Kay Barnes. They weremarried September 29, 1962.That same year, Jerry joined the United States Air Force and spent time in England, Germany,and New Mexico. After his honorable discharge, he worked in hospital housekeeping for severalyears. He eventually fulfilled his dream of starting his own commercial cleaning andlandscaping business, Poston and Associates. Ever since, The Postons have lived in manyplaces but most of their married life was spent in Plano and Lucas with a recent move toPalestine in 2013.Jerry enjoyed the hobby of drag boat racing, blown gas hydro, with the Southern Drag BoatAssociation, racing at events across the southern United States. He also was involved with hisson, Jay, in Enduro go-cart racing then switched to Mini Sprint dirt track racing. He just lovedtinkering on anything with an engine. He also enjoyed keeping a beautiful yard, and especiallyloving his many grandchildren (and great grandchildren!)Jerry and Kay had four children, Tammy, Kelly, Stacey, and Jay, each of whom went on to modelhis character and his integrity in their own life successes.Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Margie Poston, his son, Jerry Jay Poston, Jr,and his granddaughter, Katherine Katie Reed Swagler.Jerry leaves behind his wife, Linda Kay, of almost 60 years, of Palestine, Texas his children,Tammy Cay Swagler and her husband David, of Aurora, Colorado, Kelly Michelle Smith and herhusband Mike of Palestine, Texas and Stacey Lynn Cambron and her husband Charles ofDayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Jake and Sam Swagler, Riley and McKenna Smith, Chase, Rachel,Elizabeth, Joshua and Caleb Cambron, and Treven Poston, son of Jay; great-grandchildreninclude Karlie and Everleigh, Charlie, Saylah, Lane, Everett, Dawson and Ryan; his sisters, Kayren Arnold of McKinney, Texas and Jamie Cates of Dallas, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Services, lovingly coordinated by Senior Funeral Director, Don Dodd and North Dallas FuneralHome, will be held for Jerry on Tuesday March 1st, 2022, at Wilson Chapel & Cemetery, 100Chapel Lane, McKinney, Texas 75069.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by theCelebration of Life at 2:00 PM with interment immediately following at Wilson Chapel Cemetery.
