JoDelle Roberts passed away peacefully on Sunday June the 2nd 2024 in Horseshoe Bay TX at the Brixton nursing home. She was born August the 7th 1933 in New Boston TX to L. H. Williams and Pearl Williams. She had three younger sisters, Marie Krumwiede, Verna Kimberlin, and Wanda Whitehead. All three sisters have preceded her in death. Jodelle graduated from New Boston high school in 1951. She played on the high school basketball team. She married Lonzo Lester Roberts of Hooks Texas in 1951 and then moved to Dallas after Lonzo finished his military service. There, they raised their three children, Vicki Lynn Rook, Michael Bruce Roberts, and Brian David Roberts. Jodelle was a homemaker, seamstress, and mother. All this while becoming the second runner up in the Mrs. Dallas contest. She worked for various life insurance companies early in her career until finding her niche in the insurance mass marketing business as an Executive Vice President of Administration with Corporate Benefit Systems of Dallas, Employee Benefit Services of New York, and then her own company, J. D. Administrative Services, Inc before she retired. Along the way, she was elected to Who's Who among students in American Junior Colleges, she served as President for several years of the Mass Marketing Insurance Institute of America and then was inducted into the Hall of Fame of that same organization. During all of those adult years she and Lonzo taught Sunday school, were very active in all their children's activities and lives, and traveled the world together. They loved cruising all over the world, especially to Alaska. She and Lonzo loved hearing and seeing Elvis Presley perform at the Louisiana Hayride. Jodelle loved to cook and so many of her recipes are found in cookbooks that she published personally and cookbooks published with her church friends. She loved watching baseball games, Little League, Baylor games, and the Texas Rangers. She also loved the Dallas Cowboys. JoDelle is survived by her husband of 73 years Lonzo Roberts, her children, Vicki Lynn Rook and Rick Rook, Michael Roberts, Brian Roberts, and four grandchildren, Brandon Rook, Katie Rook, Daniel Roberts, and Jacob Roberts. She also has one great grandchild Chandler Roberts. Also there are numerous nieces, nephews, and other friends of her children that adopted JoDelle as their second mom. She has been and will be known and remembered affectionately as MowMow, Mamaw, Aunt Jo, and J'Dell.
