Norma Jones passed away August 28, 2009 in Cedar Hill, Texas. She was born November 20, 1923 in Huckabay, Texas. She was active in her community and was the first woman President of the Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce. She represented Cedar Hill in the Congressional hearings in Washington, D.C. on Joe Pool Lake. She was active in the First United Methodist Church, having served as the church's first woman Director of the Administrative Church Board. Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ralph Jones. She is survived by her loving children: daughter, Donna Strickland and husband Jim;; son Ralph Winn Jones. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren; Kristi Manning and her husband Ron and Kirk Strickland and his wife Amy and 5 great grandchildren. We are grateful to God for her place in our lives. The family wishes to express our gratitude to the entire staff at Sterling House in Cedar Hill and VITAS. A service celebrating her life will be held in the First United Methodist Church Cedar Hill on Monday August 31, 2009 at 1:30 pm.
