Obituary

Kimberly Broshous Jordan, 61, of Mesquite, Texas, died at home on February 17, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. Kim exemplified both a giving and a fulfilled life. Her husband, her sons and granddaughter, her parents, and her brothers remained by her side for several days before she died. And shortly before her death Kim reiterated her lifes advice to do something fun every day. She quietly passed away to the sounds of You Are My Sunshine.Kim dedicated her career to the children of Mesquite, Texas. For over twenty-five years, she improved the lives of hundreds of children as a speech therapist at Ruby Shaw Elementary School. Kim received her Bachelors Degree (1977) and her Masters Degree (1978) from Illinois State University. Like most overworked teachers, Kims dedication extended not only to her students, but also to Shaw Elementarys year book, PTA, Destination Imagination, a creative team challenge program, and eco-friendly Project Green Team, which she led over ten years. Kim recently received WFAAs Project Green Eco-Educators Award. She received the prestigious Mesquite ISD Apple Corps Designation for excellence in teaching in 2004.Kim was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1955.
