Obituary of Judith Ann Mullinax Judith Ann Mullinax Our dear grandmother, mother, and wife Judith Ann Mullinax of Coppell, Texas, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born November 15, 1941, in Michigan City, Indiana to John Virgil and Ethel Mae (Payne) Pigg. She and her parents relocated to Mt. Vernon, Illinois where she grew up along with her two younger siblings. Judy was an excellent student throughout her school years. She graduated from Mount Vernon Township High School (Class of 1959) where she was elected to the National Honor Society and served as Associate Editor of the Vernois (MVTH 1959 yearbook). During her high school years Judy was a member of the Latin Club, Quill and Scroll Club and played a saxophone in the band all four years. Judy attended Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale, IL and Rend Lake College in Mount Vernon, IL. Judith married the love of her life, Jack D. Mullinax, on September 29, 1962, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois at Logan Street Baptist Church. Judy worked as an administrative assistant and a system designer for different companies throughout her life, eventually retiring from IBM in 1995. Throughout her life, Judy and Jack moved frequently, referring to themselves as corporate nomads of IBM. In every new house, Judy created a loving home for her and her family. On their last move in 1990, Judy and Jack settled in Coppell, Texas and rejoined their church community in Royal Lane Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. Judy was a charter member of the Carileco Chapter of American Business Womens Association where she served as Hospitality Chairman and was a member of the Education Committee. Judy also completed the Dale Carnegie Course and was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for her outstanding accomplishments as a graduate assistant. Judith loved reading, building community at Royal Lane, and spending time with her growing family. She was the heart of her family and loved being with them on special family dinner nights and holidays. We, as her family, knew how much she loved us because she always made us feel important. Judy was a long-time member of the Questers Sunday School class at Royal Lane making lifelong friends and connections. Judy loved the relationships she created with her classmates who dearly miss her presence. Judith was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sandra Kaye Cordle, her brother-in-law Patrick Ossie Minyard Cordle and her nephew, John Patrick Cordle. Judith is survived by her husband Jack; brother David Virgil Pigg of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; and three daughters, Janet Elizabeth Ramirez (Brian) of Shady Shores, Texas; Julia Suzanne Stewart (Steve) of Lago Vista, Texas; and Jill Diane Mullinax of Dallas, Texas.
