Judy Ann (Adams) Powell, Age 77, passed away on February 17, 2025 in Arlington, Texas surrounded by loving family.
Judy was born September 14, 1947 in Stafford, Kansas, the daughter of Jay and Mae (Willamae Moran) Adams.
Judy graduated from Satanta High School in 1966. She received her Associates Degree from Seward County Community College in 1994 and worked as an RN at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.
Judy married Irvin Ellis Powell on March 18, 1967 at the Sublette Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Kehr officiating. Judy and Irvin were married for 28 years until Irvin's death in 1995. During their marriage, Judy worked side-by-side with Irvin on the family farm near Sublette, Kansas. They welcomed five daughters and one son and cared for many foster children whom they considered their children.
Judy especially loved working on puzzles, playing cards, riding motorcycles, Thunder basketball, photography and butterflies.
Remaining to cherish Judy's memory are; children, Christina Simmons (Scott), Marge Hernandez (Ryan), Carrie Peterson (Larry), Robert Powell (Jessica), Misty Cook and Amber Powell-Stiles; grandchildren, Josie Simmons (Fraz Haseen), Gordon Simmons (Lena Malorodova), Kylee Garcia, Taelyn Fischer (Cole), Kiley Dawn Betley (Tyler), Tanner Hernandez, Danielle Lucenara, Charles Peterson, Kaden Powell, Jezreel Powell, Eve Powell, Ezekiel Powell, Justus Powell, Elijah Powell, Malachi Powell, Alyssa Smith (Michael Nations), Justin Smith (Jennifer Luna), EJ Smith, Samantha Smith, Jericka Stiles, Jaydin Stiles, Xavier Stiles; great-grandchildren, Zayn Haseen, Eva Garcia, Ellie Garcia, Stella Garcia, Eden Bryant, Rory Fischer, Riley Fischer, Caden Fischer, Ashton Lucenara, Zenrale Moore, Brantley Nations, Jaxson Nations, Aleah Nations, Finnian Smith; brother, Keith Adams (Angela); sisters, Deena Chavers and Marie Holcomb; Aunt, Marge Eckles.
Preceding Judy in death are spouse, Irvin Powell; parents, Jay Adams and Mae (Moran) Adams.
Graveside memorial service will be held this spring with burial at Banner Cemetery, south of Sublette, Kansas.
