Conrad Frank Knapp, a retired construction engineer and foreman, passed away peacefully on Friday March 8th in Carrollton, Texas, he was 82 years old. Conrads remains will be cremated and there will be a celebration of his life at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 31st at 4629 Birkshire Lane. Plano, Texas.Conrad was born on January 23rd, 1937 and grew up in Haltom City, Texas where he attended Haltom High School. He served in the United States Army before his honorable discharge and afterwards went to work for Bell Helicopter before accepting a job with his high school friend, Jeff Payne, to work for his construction company. He worked for JW Payne Construction until the time of his retirement. He could be seen frequently, with his friends and family, at TCU sporting events or Texas Rangers baseball games or playing cards at the local Knights of Columbus hall. Family meant everything to Conrad and he was always proud of his name and his people. Conrad never met anyone he couldnt call friend and he will be missed by those who loved and knew him best.Conrad is preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Anna Marie, his brothers; Walter, Alfons, Manfred and Carl; his first wife, Robbie; and his son, Conrad Frank, Jr. He is survived by his second wife; Carolyn; his son, Erik and his grandson, Jason. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Jean and Bennie as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. The family would like to thank the VITAS Unit at Baylor, Scott and White Hospital in Carrollton for making Conrads last days as comfortable as possible.
