Barbara Anne Lauer of Richardson, Texas passed away during the early evening of September 17, 2014. She had waged a magnificent battle in an attempt to overcome her illnesses. In fact, she became known to the hospital staff as the tough old bird in ICU. That was perfect, since it certainly matched her style and down-to-earth sense of humor.Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Lewis McCoy and her mother, Maurine Cherry McCoy of Weatherford, Texas.She is survived by her two daughters Lisa Carroll and Donna Batten and their husbands Rick and Bob, her sister Carolyn Durrett and husband Bob, and her grandchildren Nick-25, Justin-21, Madison-10, Charlotte-7. She is also survived by her nephew Derrell and wife Alia, niece Debbie and great nephews Jake and Rusty.Barbaras pride was of her grandchildren. There was not a holiday or birthday that went without a card and/or a personally prepared gift from Grandma. Another joy of hers was to prepare the brownies for all of the family gatherings over the years. We did not realize just how many various recipes there are for brownies...A memorial service for Barbara will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2014. It will be held in the Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.
