Melanie Dawn Redding Lopez, 54, of Grand Prairie, Texas, died at a local hospital on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 6:59 am. Melanie was born June 9, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to Stanley Neal and Marian Jean Kornblatt Redding. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching movies, spending time with family and friends, but most of all she loved rolling around Walmart, shopping and enjoying her unsweetened tea. She was a nurse in the healthcare field.She is survived by her husband, Alvaro Lopez of Grand Prairie; sister, Lynette Jarret of Luling, Texas; three daughters, Tiffany Lopez, Angelica Lopez, and Jaquetta Harris all of Grand Prairie, Texas; one son, Steven Harris Jr. of Springfield, Missouri ; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Brooks Family Chapel at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.Please send family condolences and sign the guest book on this website.
