Lowell Montgomery Wiggins was born in his parents home in the county of Chester, Pennsylvania on April 8, 1923. He was born the 5th of 8 children to parents Jasper and Cleo Wiggins. The family moved to Findlay OH while he was still quite young, then to Adrian MI for some years. When he was about high school age, they moved back to Findlay, Cleos hometown. Lowell noticed a dark-haired girl in the church choir soon after moving there. Her name was Charlotte and she was the daughter of Trudie Herbst, Cleos long-time good friend. Trudies husband, Lee Roy, had passed away when Charlotte and her brother were very small.Very soon, a major war began and eventually brought in the United States. In January 1943, Lowell was called up to serve in the Army and traveled to Fort Bliss for training. When the group was transferred to Louisiana, they realized they were going to be somewhere in the Pacific theater. Lowell spent over 2 years fighting in the war, mostly in New Guinea and on Mindanao. He returned home almost exactly 3 years to the day of his departure.In 1947, the year after his return home, Lowell started his car sales business, and later that same year married his beloved Charlotte, to the delight of Cleo and Trudie, who had fun shopping together for their dresses for the wedding. That year was such an important year for Lowell that he eventually got vanity plates issued for his AMC dealership with 1947 on them. Four children were born to Lowell and Charlotte, 2 boys first, David and Steven, then 2 girls, Louise and Lorna. The family often went camping during the summer months, and Lowell and Charlotte took a week off each year just for the two of them.When Lowell retired from the car business, they moved to Arizona and lived there for almost 30 years. They eventually joined Grace Bible Church of Sun City. After Charlotte passed away in April 2009, Lowell joined the church choir, enjoying the fellowship from that association and even traveling to Israel on two different occasions with some of the choir members.In 2018, Lowell decided to move to Dallas to live with Lornas family as his memory had begun to fade. An additional bonus to the move was that his son, Steve also lived in Dallas. Lowell spent six months first, though, with daughter Louise in CA, enjoying that state, while Lornas family did some remodeling to their Dallas home to give him more private space. While he was content living with family, Lowell looked forward to a reunion with his beloved Charlotte in Heaven. That day came on February 19, 2022 when he passed away, almost two months short of his 99th birthday.Lowell was preceded in death by his mother and father, son David, and Charlotte. He was a man who loved his God, he loved his country, and he loved Charlotte and his family.
