Obituary of Lynda Kaye Briggs Shehane Lynda Kaye Briggs Shehane, 71, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on June 20, 2023, following a courageous battle with breast cancer. Lynda was born on August 23, 1951, in McKinney, Texas to Laura Loveday. Following her mothers death, Lynda was raised by her aunt and uncle, Raymond and Doris Loveday, and gained two cousin-sisters Sandra Elliott and Pat Loveday. She will be deeply missed by her loving family, faithful friends, and all the wonderful people who knew and loved her.
Lynda loved serving God by serving others. Her hands were rarely still as she was always cooking, sewing or crafting. She shared her passion for food and cooking with her children and grandchildren. Whether it was making favorite family recipes, homemade salsa and guacamole, or her annual Christmas breads, Lynda always looked forward to cooking for the ones she loved.
Lynda also loved animals and would have rescued every one of them, large and small, if possible. Her furbabies brought Lynda much happiness and they will certainly miss the love and care that Lynda gave them.
Lynda is survived by her loving husband of almost 33 years, Dr. Jerry Shehane; three daughters: Christina Gillilan and husband DaRon of Rockwall, Texas, Stacy Carroll and husband David of Flower Mound, Texas, and Laura Bass of Carrollton, Texas; stepchildren: David Shehane of Augusta, Maine, Michael Shehane and wife Melissa of College Station, Texas, and Katy Kempf and husband Josh of Rowlett, Texas; and eight grandchildren.
A celebration of Lyndas life will be held at 10:30am on Friday, June 30, 2023, at The North Dallas Funeral Home (2710 Valley View Lane, Dallas, TX 75234).
In lieu of flowers, if you would like to honor Lynda, the family asks to please consider donating to SPIN Saving Pyrs In Need (www.spinrescue.org) or Dallas Cat Lady (dallascatlady.org).
