Darlene Rawlins Mahoney passed away peacefully on June 2, 2016,at the age of 54, surrounded by family and friends. With heavy hearts, friends and family remembered the qualities that made Darlene such an amazing person. She had a heart of gold, made everyone feel important, could light up a room with her vibrant personality and loved deeply. Her thoughtful, fun-loving and passionate spirit will be missed but never forgotten.Darlene was born and raised in Farmers Branch, Texas. She was a 1980 graduate of W.T. White High School where she made many lifelong friends.She was a dedicated employee of Carlson Wagonlit Travel for 30 years a milestone she was very proud of. Her career allowed her to travel extensively, which was one of her passions. But even more importantly, it brought her together with the love of her life, her husband, Mike Mahoney. While their time together was short, they loved a lifetimes worth. In addition, Darlene was so proud and excited to be the Godmother and Aunt Dee Dee to her young niece, Nora.Darlene will always be remembered for her love of entertaining, food and surrounding herself with special friends and family. She also cared deeply about her community and volunteered for Metrocrest Services and the Dallas Farmers Market. Darlene was also a passionate dog lover and was crazy about her cocker spaniels Gibson and Presley.Darlene is survived by her mother, Betty Lois Rudd Rawlins of Farmers Branch; her husband, Mike Mahoney of Farmers Branch; her brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Megan Rawlins of Fairview, Texas; her mother-in-law, Donna Kenny of Farmers Branch and a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews throughout Texas.Darlene was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Lynn Rawlins of Farmers Branch and her father Allen Palmer Rawlins of Quinlan, Texas.A celebration of Darlenes life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday June 25, 2016, in the chapel at Fellowship Church in Grapevine with a party immediately following at 3566 Green Acres Terrace, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.Please note We all know Darlenes fun-loving and genuinely passionate approach to life and entertainment, so it is her wish that no formal wear or black be worn to her celebration service or party. Please wear casual clothes and bright colors to reflect her brightness.
