Marilyn Ann Leary passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2025, at her home in Carrollton, Texas, at the age of 70. Her family is deeply saddened by her sudden death.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Dakota Beckworth; son-in-law, Kareem Beckworth; and three grandchildren. She is forever remembered by her siblings, Lavern Maggitt, Linda Leary, and Grace Leary Moore; her nieces, Jill Antoinette Jackson Prunty, Emeeka Maggitt, Edith Hyner, Anna Hyner, and Elexandria Moore; nephews, Tony Hyner and Bert Moore; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Bert Culpepper Leary; her mother, Hestinia Leary; sister, Clara Jean Riley; brother, Lawrence Hyner; and her aunt, Hestoria Leary.
Marilyn was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and served as an usher. She graduated from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business. She cherished her time as a Delta Sigma Theta soror. She retired from AT&T after 42 years of service.
Marilyn was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile would light up any room she walked into. She made an impact on many lives and will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
