Obituary of Marion Nusbaum Marion Nusbaum passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023. She was eighty-seven years old. Marion was born March 17, 1936 to Jacob and Rose (Glieberman) Goodman in Detroit, MI. A child of immigrants, Marion was the last surviving sibling of their four children. She married her high school sweetheart on December 23, 1956 and was widowed by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Hyman Nusbaum, in 2020. Marion is survived by her three children: Alan (Gigi) Nusbaum, Rochelle (Jeff, preceded in death) Greenberg and Ronald (Carol) Nusbaum, five grand-children and four great-grandchildren. When Marion lost her husband three years ago, for the first time in her life she found herself living alone. In a testament to her strength and stubbornness, she gradually adapted to living independently. Although she missed her late husband terribly, she made the most of her remaining time by staying active and close to her friends and the staff in her community. Marion proudly displayed her latest embroidery projects, and even in the intense heat of North Texas, she walked her dog, Sandy, regularly and visited with her friends in the community dog park. Most importantly to her, Marion was able to spend a lot time with her family, either face-to-face or through the often daily-used video portal. She loved her children, adored her grandchildren, and was absolutely smitten with her great-grandchildren. In short, Marion was determined to carve out a fulfilling life from overwhelming grief. In her later years Marion struggled with short term memory issues, something that frustrated her to no end, but she was able to recall and entertain us in detail with amazing stories of her childhood and early adult life that wed never heard before. We truly believed she would be with us for so much longer. Our hearts are broken. Marion will be missed terribly by all who had the good fortune to have known her. May she rest in peace. A private service will be held for Marion at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on October 19th where her life will be remembered and celebrated. She will be laid to rest with her late husband.
