Obituary

Mary Maydell Woodall, age 84, of Lewisville TX passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 11, 2025.

Mary was born in Dallas Texas at Parkland Hospital in 1940 to Cleo Louis Allen and Retha Allen.

Mary worked as a seamstress in the 1960s for Sanger Harris and later worked for Ford Motor Company, Superior Car Compressors and International Harvester rebuilding car air-conditioner compressors in the 1970s. She was one of only a few women to work in this difficult car-part industry that had previously only been open to men. She did this back-breaking work to earn more money and support her family. Her last employer in the 1980s was Texas Instruments where she worked as a drilling press technician.

In 1957 she married William Jesse Dooley Sr. and had two children, Lela Darlene Hawkins and William J. Dooley. She was later married for 51 years to the love of her life Reginald Woodall.

Mary enjoyed making quilts, stuffed dolls and bunnies and loved county western dancing. She loved playing bingo and slot machines and traveling around in the family RV.

Mary Maydell Woodall was preceded in death by her parents Cleo Louis Allen and Retha Allen of Dallas TX, her sisters Jaquitta Brown of Crum TX, Donnice Bannister of Irving TX, Gladys Martin of Irving TX, Alton Allen of Carrollton TX, her son Paul Woodall, Sr. of Springtown TX, her grand-daughter Chastity Grimes of Grand Prairie TX, her grandson Wesley Woodall of Mabank TX , her brothers-in-law, Lowell Bannister and Jackie Martin and her sisters-in-law, Doris Allen and Gale Allen.

She is survived by her husband Reginald Woodall, her daughter, Lela Darlene Hawkins and her husband Bobby Don Hawkins of Lewisville TX, her son, William J. Dooley and his husband Martin J. Rubin of Highland Park TX, her daughter, Sharon Trousdale and her husband, Richard Trousdale, her brother, Ronnie Allen of Paris TX, grandchildren, Chad Grimes and his wife Sam Grimes, Dustin Grimes, Jacob Dooley and his wife Kuerstin Marzahl, Micah Mattox and her husband Dalton Mattox, Tyler Trousdale and his wife Katelin Trousdale, Bailey Ramirez and her husband Joel Ramirez and many great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, and the funeral will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch TX 75234.
