Dixie Charlene Whaley McCoy of Lewisville, Texas passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the age of 74. She was born on November 17, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to William Wayne and Nellie Fay Wilson Whaley. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her life partner, Patricia Price, sister, Jackie Phillips, brother Butch Whaley, daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Gerry Diehl, son, Gary McCoy, son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Lisa McCoy, and son, Justin Jones, Dixie is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dixie sang with the Sweet Adelines for over 40 years. She enjoyed painting, sewing, crochet and quilting for her friends and family. Her greatest joy was cooking with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Funeral services will be on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234.
