Barbara was born in Reading, Massachusetts, on February 8, 1929, to Phillip and Eva ( Letourneau) OBrien, passed away on March 27, 2020, at her home, in Farmers Branch, Texas. First born of four children, Philip (Nick) deceased, William (Bill) and Kay, Thomas (Tommy) deceased.Barbara attended school in Reading, graduating in 1946. First employment was as a telephone operator for New England T & T. After two years she went to work at Peter Flynns, a fine family owned ladies dress shop in Boston, Massachusetts. Growing up, Barbara enjoyed her family, skiing, swimming and living in New England. Barbara later interviewed with American Airlines where she was told she had big feet. Her response was, Yes, I know but I have nice legs. With that being said, she was hired! Onto stewardess school in Chicago and by June 30, found herself relocated in Dallas, Texas, where she has resided ever since. Barbara married American Airlines Captain Ozzie Brister and retired from American Airlines in 1958. They had two children, Robert, who died in 1959 and Linda Anne born in 1962. Ozzie passed away December, 1964. Barbara was very active at St. Monica Catholic Church, the Dallas Kiwi Club, and American Airlines. After a courtship with American Airlines Captain, James Arthur (Art) Miller, they married on June 30, 1967. Art having three boys, Jimmy, Glen and Hank, made an instant family for Barbara and Linda. As with all new blended families, things were, at times, a little hectic but forty-seven years as a family all seems to have worked out just fine. Art left us in May of 2015. Its been a grand life with so many adventures, wonderful friends and no regrets!Barbara is survived by her sons James Arthur (Jimmy) Miller, III, Glen Tate Miller (Sharon Leftwich Miller), Henry Christopher (Hank) Miller, daughter Linda Coffin (Donald Craig Coffin), ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one brother Bill (Kay), and best friend, Donna Mae Morrissey.A special thank you to the wonderful care and support given to Barbara by Heart to Heart Hospice, especially Tami and Mary and her caretaker Mercy.Tentative arrangements" - Memorial Mass will take place on Monday, June 29, at 10:00 a.m. St. Monica Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Road, Dallas, Texas, 75229.
