Obituary

Doris entered this life on October 22, 1928 and peacefully departed on April 3, 2014 at her home.As a lifelong resident of Dallas, she treasured her childhood friends and was proud to have been a Woodrow Wilson Wildcat Class of 1946, so much so that her schools fight songs were among the first tunes she taught her children. Doris later attended Southern Methodist University and Texas State College for Women. As a charter member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Doris wore several hats; including President of the Womens Auxiliary, Acolyte Mother, and even played the piano for the childrens services. Many lifelong friendships were made through service at her church.Doris had a variety of passions, including golf, playing the piano, ham radio (KA5BBB), cross-word puzzles and everyone knew not to call during Wheel of Fortune. A challenging game of gin rummy would never be turned down.Doris never knew a stranger and welcomed all to her kitchen table for a good talk and a refreshing cocktail; all of which were accompanied by a feast from her magical refrigerator, producing gourmet meals in seconds.Family members who will greet her in heaven include her parents, Ruby & Lemuel Briggs; brother, Lloyd Briggs; husband, Jack P. Morgan; and son, Jack B. Morgan. Those who remain to treasure and celebrate her life include her daughter, Mary Peltier and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Eric (Fairbanks, AK), Sarah (Dallas), Kathryn and her children Jackson and Karly (Wasilla, AK), and Scott (Centennial, CO).KA5BBBsigning out.
